Fresh off the basketball court where she was named All Tournament Player and proved herself as an essential part of the girls 7th grade basketball team, Kellcy Bell is now setting, spiking and serving for the 7th grade EVMS Volleyball team. (see Polaroids page)
Her first attempt at the sport, Bell says that the workouts are intense but she enjoys the game and is looking forward to a competitive and fun season. "I like playing the other schools and I like trying new sports. I've played volleyball for fun and even in the recreation league, but I think we have a good team this season and I predict a successful season. I'm excited to get started."
With practice 5-days a week, games will begin on the 23rd and last throughout the month of March. "During our first game I will have to play my cousin, Brianna. The two of us have played soccer and basketball together since we were little and now competing against each other will be something new. I'm excited and may the best team win Cuz," she says smirking.
Still supporting her older sister each weekend at the dirt races in Red Bluff, CA., Kellcy confesses that she misses the racing just a 'little bit'. "It was a big part of my life for a lot of years. I don't think it's something that I will ever do again, but I've been known to change my mind!"
Keep up to date with all the sport scores and be sure to check back on that final "cousins" game in the weeks to come. Until then, Happy New Year and "GOT IT!"

| THE DECISION IS MADE....
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2007-12-03
|
As many of you know, Kellcy Bell has been undecided as to whether she would climb back into her 250cc dirt kart during this season in Red Bluff, CA. After some nudging and near bribery, Kellcy has made up her mind.... She is hanging up her racing shoes, forever.
In an interview with her crew chief father Kelly, he said he is very disappointed. "I was hoping to have both my girls on the track this season. Early in the year Kellcy thought she might run at least 2 or 3 races, so I was hopeful. But like her mom and sister often do, she changed her mind as quickly as she made it up. She's very focused on her sports right now and I really enjoy watching her play. She knows that whatever she does, I support her 100% and that's what is most important".
The youngest of the racing Bell sisters, Kellcy has two-championship titles in Red Bluff and is the only little girl in Red Bluff's 27 year history to hold that title. "I know my mom, dad and sister wanted me to race this season but I'm really into basketball and volleyball, and with try-outs this week, I'm focused on making the team! The racetrack will always be a part of my life, and with Mackena starting the late model program next summer, I'll be there every weekend supporting and cheering her on!" said Bell.
With all of her go-karting equipment for sale, Shannon Bell says that the decision has not been an easy one for the family. "Kellcy has struggled back and forth on what she wanted to do and Kelly didn't want to force her. Sometimes it's easy to forget that Kellcy is now the age that Mackena was when she got started in racing and Mackena had already experienced success with her love for sports. Kellcy has now found that love and with the same natural ability needs to do her own thing. With so many similarities in the girls, there are equally many differences. They both need to live there own dreams knowing that their father and I support them, and who knows, she might be back in a car someday. There's certainly still time."
If you are interested in becoming part of the dirt karting program and are looking to buy a championship kart, contact Bell Racing through this website.
~Happy Holidays from Bell Racing and look for a newly updated website for Kellcy in the weeks to come!~

With summer drawing to an end, Kellcy Bell has put away her summer bikini and picked-up her book bag and basketball. Returning to EVMS after a summer full of beach volleyball, wakeboarding, concerts, drag races, asphalt racing, basketball camp and lots of shoppin', Bell set her sights early on making the 7th grade basketball team.
After weeks of summer camp, the hard work paid off when Bell was selected as the starting point guard of her EVMS Eagles team. Not only did she make the team, but has proven that great things come in tiny packages. "I used to get nervous about being the smallest girl on the team, but I've learned that if all else fails, I know I can outrun 'em," she says laughing. "I'm excited to play for EVMS and hope we win today!"
Bringing the same competitive nature we so often see at the racetrack to the basketball court, Bell will kick-off the season this afternoon when the Eagles vs. Fallon in their first game of the season. With a great group of girls, this year is sure to be full of excitement . . . Go Eagles!
Speaking of that "competitive racetrack nature", with the Red Bluff season opener just 6 weeks away, Bell has announced that she will only run a limited schedule due to her athletic schedule. "I'm hoping she will change her mind," said her disheartened Dad, Kelly. "She had just figured out the kart at the end of last season. And even though the majority of the other drivers will have run all summer long and have much more seat time than she, I think she can still be competitive and in the mix."
With her 250cc motor at the engine shop, Dad is preparing the kart for opening day and is hopeful that she will change her mind. "It won't be the same without her," said Mackena Bell. "We are a 'sister' team in Red Bluff and I know my sister. Regardless of how much seat time those boys will have, she'll drive them hard and win some races. I agree with Dad, she needs to get back in the kart...It's time to go racing!!"
When asking Kellcy about her plans and the pressure she is feeling from both her Dad and Sister, she just smiled. "After basketball is volleyball and then track. I have two-championships in Red Bluff and I kinda feel like I've done my thing over there. If there is a break in my sports schedule and I have the chance to get back in the kart, I just might. But don't tell my Dad," she says smiling.
I guess we will all have to watch and see how the race season unfolds for this young lady. Whether on the track or on the court, it is clear that this youngster has one busy schedule. Check-out her updated photos and stay tuned for her Fall sports highlights and remember to sign her Guestbook!

Taking the summer off to support her sister's racing schedule, Kellcy Bell is keeping busy with a Summer schedule all her own and making it to the track as much as possible! She has celebrated a birthday, loves to wakeboard, is getting ready for basketball and plays volleyball on the beaches of Lake Tahoe every chance she gets!
Celebrating her 12th birthday just a few weeks ago, Kellcy is loving summer, sleeping in, hanging out with friends, enjoying her new cell phone and mastering Guitar Hero...a game Mackena has yet to beat her at. "I love the summer!" said Kellcy. "My mom is really good about keeping us busy during the week and we do a lot of fun things. With summer just beginning, I'm having a blast "schooling" Mackena at Guitar Hero....but then she makes up for it on the bowling lanes! We like to cruise upto Jamba and B&R and we've hit the car wash a couple of times! Sounds boring, but it keeps us busy and it's fun!"
Looking forward to playing basketball for her Junior High in the Fall, Kellcy is getting ready to attend Open Gym workouts 3-days a week in preparation for the game. "I love basketball, the competition and the clock. There is nothing better than having the ball at the buzzer and throwing it in for a 3-pointer....Swoosh! Plus, everyone thinks that because I'm tiny I can't be good, so I like to surprise them," she says with a little smirk.
Also filling up Kellcy's days are trips to Lake Tahoe where she loves to hang by the water, swim and play beach volleyball with friends and her cousins. "I will definitely try out for volleyball this year. I love the game and smacking that ball gets out all my aggression," she says cracking herself up.
With no scheduled races in Kellcy's immediate future, she says that dirt kart racing will be here before she knows it. With Red Bluff's opening day usually slated for mid October, Kellcy says she will enjoy summer one day at a time, looks forward to starting school in a few short months and plans on sleeping in as much as possible until then!
Continue to check back from time to time to hear what Kellcy is doing with her summer, check out her latest JOURNAL entry, POLAROID pictures and post all your fun summer messages in her GUESTBOOK!

| Summer Fun!

|
Taking some time off from racing to support the busy summer race schedule of her sister, asphalt & dirt Champ, Mackena Bell, Kellcy recently enjoyed Spring Break with family & friends at Six Flags, Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA. She is also keeping her mind off the track by swimming, hangin' with friends and playing basketball. A game that is just as competitive to her, as racing is.
As a primary point guard for her "Lady Tarheels" basketball team, Kellcy quickly developed a reputation for being quick, stealing the ball and sinking 3-pointers at the buzzer! After winning the Wide Smiles Championship early in the season, the Lady Tarheels went on to finish their season 11-2, suffering one loss by 2-baskets and the other in overtime, by only 1 point. "That was a disappointing game. We were up most of the game, but they were tough, and as you know, you win some, you lose some."
That attitude is one that Kellcy kept throughout her winter racing season as well. As she showed midway through the season, Kellcy figured out the driving requirements of her 250cc dirt kart and placed 4th in her final Main Event of the season. "Yeah, I like supporting Mackena throughout the summer but I hope that I get a chance to run a few times so that I don't forget everything I learned in Red Bluff during the winter."
With a birthday coming up in just a few weeks, Kellcy is also looking forward to parties in their home pool, hanging out with friends and listening to her favorite music, rock-n-roll. "I love summer and you can bet I'm counting down the days until school is out!"
With the Bell Families full racing schedule from now until early September, Kellcy plans to continue supporting her big sister at every race. "The travelling gets tiring, but I have to be there for my sister. Together we have made a name for ourselves and I know that the more experience she gets, the more she can teach me in the years to come." Sounds like Kellcy has it all figured out!
Be sure to check back from time to time to see what is keeping Kellcy busy and to read how she is spending her weekends. Click on her GUESTBOOK to leave your summer fun suggestions and check out her POLAROIDS page for recent, fun photo additions.

| There Was No Irish "LUCK" on the White Flag Lap!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2007-03-19

After a very successful end to her 2006-2007 run in Red Bluff, Kellcy Bell was excited to return to the Tehama County Fairgrounds to participate in the 2007 West Coast Nationals. With more than 200+ karts in attendance, Bell knew that this weekend would bring excitement and require hard driving from herself.
After qualifying mid-pack of the 250cc field, Bell would start mid-pack as well in the heat race. This weekends event was based on driver accumulated points and those points placed the driver in each event. In the 16 kart line-up, Bell had an excellent run, working her way to the 2nd place position. Unthinkably similar to her sister, Kellcy made a mistake on the last lap of the race when she came off of Turn 2 and skimmed the safety wall. Her quick reflex to pull-in the clutch allowed her a 6th place finish, however, it was not good enough for a direct transfer into the Main Event.
As Kellcy had done many times during the season, she would run the "B' event with determination and drive. She hoped that she could accumulate enough points to transfer to Saturday's big event and hoped that her attempt in the "B Scramble" race would better her starting position.
When Saturday's Main Events were posted, Kellcy realized that she would have to take a 4th place or better position to make the Main Event. Starting outside 4th row, Bell got a great start and raced hard. Lap after lap Kellcy improved her position and had worked her way into the 4th place transfer position. On the FINAL LAP Bell was slammed in Turn 4 by the #90 kart and the two hooked together. With the crowd on their feet, they watched the #90 take away the 4th place position from Bell and the crowd went wild. "People in the grandstands were booing him!" said Bell. "I realized that he had just taken away my chance to run the Main Event and I was really mad! I had a fast kart and I had raced clean. I knew when he hit me that hard that I had to hold the gas down and try to beat him to the line. I gave it everything I could, but the way we were hooked together, his transponder crossed the line first."
Bell existed the track, unlatched her safety restraints and headed for her motor coach to remove her driving suit. "I was really mad, but I didn't cry. I was happy with my driving and I know I drove good. I drove strong and he had to crash me to beat me! Some boys have a hard time getting beat by a girl, but I'll race him again, and next time I'll be ready for him and he had better be ready for me," said Bell smiling.
I can tell you that based on this youngsters drive, determination and past achievements, that this past weekend is just another notch in her racing belt and I hope I'm around to see the rematch. This summer she hopes to run the 250cc and keep her driving skills up, but with the schedule that her sister, Mackena, has lined-up, she is not sure when she will race again.
Check back week-to-week to stay up-to-date with this young driver. Whether she is on the track, playing basketball, volleyball or wakeboarding there is sure to be exciting news during the summer months.

| Focus, Attitude & Determination!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2007-02-19
|
In her final race of the 2006-07 Red Bluff dirt track season, Kellcy Bell knew that this race was her final attempt at reaching her self-inspired goals set back in mid-December.
Beginning her afternoon with a qualifying effort just outside the Top 10, Kellcy found herself midpack of the 250cc division with an 11th place position. Realizing that her goal of making the Trophy Dash within this season wasn't going to happen, Bell focused her thoughts on a Top 5 finish in the Main Event, and was determined to race hard and try her best.
Lining-up third row, outside for her heat race, only the top 5 karts would advance to the Main Event. With a heavy push, Kellcy struggled through turn 4, finishing 6th and not making the A Event.
After her Crew Chief (and Dad) made some changes to the kart, Kellcy started front row of the "B". Racing hard, she found the perfect line. "I kept reminding myself that I had to make the A Main, so I kept my line, turned hard in Turn 4 and finished 2nd!"
Starting the Main Event in the back of the pack, Kellcy tugged at her safety restraints, tucked her bangs inside her helmet and was ready. Lap after lap Kellcy picked off the field, avoided the pile-ups, spins and flips. When a red flag flew for the 1C of Chase Hill who reportedly suffered two broken ribs in his crash, Kellcy had worked her way to 6th and was focused on that 5th place kart.
Getting a great restart at the green flag, Bell not only took over the 5th place position, but powered her way into 4th at the checkered flag. "I was saying to myself, you did it, you did it!" said Bell with excitement. Kellcy finished her season reaching her goal of a Top 5 finish and proved to herself that her positive attitude, never giving up and her determination to figure out the kart, paid off. "It felt great!" said Bell. "I'm really happy with the way my season ended and I know now that I can drive that kart and that I showed everyone else that I can too! I'm really excited to see what I can do at Nationals in March!"
With Bell missing the final race of the season, she hopes that she can maintain a Top 15 finish in points. "I started the night in 13th and I hope with all the points I made this weekend that I can stay in the Top 15 and not drop below. Maybe...maybe not?" said Bell.
Kellcy's Dad, Sportsman driver Kelly Bell, had a night that made him happy the season was over. Just missing the Trophy Dash by one position, Bell qualified 7th, won his heat race and started pole of the Main Event. What is wrong with this night, you ask. Bell spun midway through the Main Event while in 2nd place, sending him to the back, only to spin again to avoid a pile-up in turn 1. "I was trying too hard," said Bell. "After trying to fix Mackena's mangled kart, I missed the set-up on my own and looked like a rookie out there! I'm glad I can park the kart for a few months and focus on other things."
Although discouraged, Bell shouldn't be so hard on himself. He posted a Main Event win and several heat race and trophy dash wins in his first season back in 11 years. Bell is currently 9th in points after missing the first 2 races of the season and most importantly shared a bond with both his daughters that most Dad's don't get the opportunity to share. "I guess overall it was a successful season but sometimes it's just too much. I'm ready to watch Mackena run asphalt this summer, run the late model and I'm excited about the dirt midget as well. The best part of racing for me is not winning, it's watching our girls."
As is always the case with Bell Racing, it sounds like their racing schedule is already full. | Maybe I'm Saving The Best For Last!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2007-02-14

Coming back to Red Bluff for the #11th race of the season, Kellcy was excited to hit the track in hopes of yet another successful weekend! After posting her best finish of the series during race #10, she had a goal of making the Trophy Dash this weekend and in qualifying put her best effort forward. "The kart was fast, but it had a push. I tried hard to get it through Turns 1 and 2, but it wasn't good enough." Posting a 12th place qualifying position, Kellcy didn't get discouraged. If there is anything this 11-year old Champion realizes, it's that a lot can happen between qualifying and the Main Event.
Still determined to fulfill her goal of progressing to the Main Event each weekend, Bell lined up for her Heat Race where she started outside 3rd row. Getting a good jump at the start, Bell raced hard, holding off last years rival Cameron Bartlett until the final lap. She posted a 4th place finish and achieved her goal yet again, progressing the Main Event.
Again this week, Kellcy was the only young lady in the field of 16 karts to start the Main Event. Starting 10th in the field, she knew she would have to be patient, avoid any pile-ups and hoped to get a Top 5 finish out of her efforts. Avoiding the predicted crashes and spins, lap traffic and two flips which brought out red flags, Bell crossed the finish line with another Top 10 finish, posting a 7th place on the board. "I was happy with my race, but the kart started pushing half-way through. I could really feel that they added another 5 laps to the race because my arms felt like spaghetti at the end!" she says giggling. "When I was running 6th, I was trying hard to get into the Top 5, but oh well, maybe next weekend."
Bumping herself up another spot in the points standing, Bell is currently 13th. She reminded me that her season goal was a Top 15 but also mentioned that she will miss the last race, which may cause her to drop out of that Top 15 ranking. "I have had a lot of fun this season. At the beginning I was getting frustrated, but I never gave up and I finally figured it out. I hope that I can still run during the summer and keep my skills up, but we will see. I'm excited to come back in March and run the West Coast Nationals, and who knows, maybe I have saved the best for last!!"
A quick update on Sportsman driver and father to both Mackena and Kellcy, Kelly Bell. Sharing the same qualifying position with Kellcy, Bell posted a 12th place in qualifying, a 5th in his Heat Race and a 5th in the B Main Event. Bell is currently 9th in points after missing the first two races of the season and is undecided at this time as to whether he will finish out the season in the driver's seat, or focus on his daughters in the remaining race and during the Nationals weekend.
Until next time, remember to click-on Kellcy's new BURNLounge Icon to learn how YOU can start downloading your favorite music tunes from Kellcy's digital music store. Leave her a comment in her Guest Book and read her Journal for her view from the drivers seat.

| A Win For All 3-Bells
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2007-02-05
|
After a 2-week break from the dirt, Kellcy Bell was ready to return to the track in her 250cc kart. Feeling fast and more comfortable over the past few races, Bell has stayed focused on improving from week to week and has showed a determination over the last few races that many of us remember well. That determination has bumped Kellcy into the Top 15 in points, currently sitting in 14th.
As a Beginner Box and current Box Stock Champion in Red Bluff, CA., there is no doubt that she knows her way around the track. Early in the season, Bell was feeling frustrated and was having difficulty adjusting to the new kart. This weekend the determination and focus that we have seen in this young racer was evident once more.
Posting a 8th place qualifying effort with a 9.180, Bell turned the heads of friends and family, caught the attention of her fellow drivers and was the only female in the Top 15. Just missing the transfer spot in her heat race after being spun out by the #13 kart, Bell would finish 6th and have to run the B-Main Event. Not getting herself upset after the spin, Bell looked at running the B-Event as extra practice for the A-Event.
After taking an early lead in the B-Main, Bell had a good lead over Box Stock rival, Casey McClain and an even bigger lead over the rest of the field. Staying focused on hitting her marks and being patient in lap traffic, Bell WON the event and posted the quickest time of the race with a 9.186, continuing toward her goal of making each A-Main event of the season. "I had a good line and the kart felt great!" said Bell. "I'm not as tired anymore and now I'm driving the kart, instead of letting the kart drive me," she said.
The only female to make the Main Event, she started at the back of the 16-kart line-up. Dad, Kelly reminded her to be patient in the 25-lap race and to focus on her marks. Lap after lap, she made her way through the field and toward the front of the pack. Trying hard to reach her goal of a Top 5 finish before seasons end, Bell made a racing decision to stay behind the 5th place kart, when she went for the pass and he drove down on her in the straight-away. "I was faster than him, but I think he would have taken me out," said Bell. "I would rather finish 6th, then last, so I decided to just stay where I was."
Posting her best finish of the season with that 6th place, Bell said, "It was a great night. I felt like my oldself again!" "That is music to our ears," said Shannon Bell. "She had very little seat time this summer and it showed in the early season. After 10 consecutive races, her results prove how important seat time is. Going from a Box Stock to a 250cc is a big step, but her Dad and I knew it was only a matter of time before we would see the "old" Kellcy again. She did a great job!"
As she often does to herself, Kellcy has raised the bar yet again for this season. "I want to make the Trophy Dash before the season is over," she said. "I like to have goals for myself because they keep me trying harder and harder and it feels good when you reach them!!"

| The Race Was Really Fun!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2007-01-15
|
Still covered in bruises from last weeks racing event, Kellcy is staying confident and not allowing her qualifying efforts to get her down. In fact, it wouldn't be fair not to mention the progress of Kellcy's driving without telling you that she ran a FASTER TIME than both her sister and father in their respective Main Events with a 9.22 compared to sister Mackena with a 9.61 and father Kelly, with a 9.40.
Kellcy hit the track for race #9 of the series focusing on the Main Event and her goal for a Top 5 finish before season end. Finishing an impressive 2nd in her heat race, Kellcy fought hard to hold that position and made it known that she was going to race hard and not give up. At the checkered flag, she was feeling fast and happy with her finish. "I really am trying to make the Main Event each weekend. We can only be at 3 more races, and then the season is already over. I am hoping to break into the Top 15 in points, but if it doesn't happen that will be okay. I have learned alot over the past few races and I feel better every week."
Starting at the back of the pack during the Main Event, Kellcy drove a great race avoiding every crash and spin and was the only driver of the Bell Trio to finish the Main Event. "The race was really fun. I liked racing hard and even though I wasn't in the front, I felt even better than last weekend." Finishing just outside the Top 10 with a 12th of 18 karts, Kellcy had one more message for fellow driver, Seth Nunes. "Seth you drove a great race and I'm sorry you didn't win the trophy. You deserved it!"
With the fast pace and furious driving styles that were shown in every division during the evening, Kellcy was happy to stay on all 4 tires, unlike her Dad, Sportsman Driver, Kelly.
Having a great start to his evening, Bell qualified 6th and won his second trophy dash of the season. Slicing and dicing for the lead in his heat race, Bell finished 2nd and advanced to the Main Event. Having a better starting position than daughter, Mackena, Bell was outside front row. Making no changes to his kart between the trophy dash run and the Main Event, Bell did not realize that the track conditions had changed as much as they had. "When I took off, I immediately realized that the track was slick. I went into turn 1 too heavy on the throttle, drifted high and went backwards from there," he says laughing." Going to the back of the field, he immediately got on the gas and was focused on moving forward. After catching what might have been the same rut older daughter Mackena had caught, Bell flipped in turn 2 and was left resting on his side. "That was exciting, but a surprise! I was frustrated because I had missed the set-up and by the time I realized it, it was too late."
With repairs needed on both the 11m and the 20, Bell will have plenty to keep him busy over the two-week break. Until this trio returns to the track on February 3rd, remember to check out racing photo's at www.rboutlaws.com, leave your positive comments in Kellcy's Guest Book and visit Kellcy's Journal for her view of the racing fun.

| Top 5? I'm Gonna Try !!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2007-01-07

This race weekend, Kellcy Bell was coming off a 3-week break where she and her Dad had been putting together a new game plan for the dirt track in Red Bluff, CA. Making some huge changes to Kellcy's set-up, Kellcy knew that the kart would be different, but would it be different enough to make it worse, or make it work?
Continuing to stay focused on a better qualifying effort, Kellcy hit the track with determination. Immediately she could feel the difference in the kart and she wasn't sure that she liked what she felt. Improving her qualifying effort from the previous event, she went back to the race trailer telling her Dad, Kelly, that the kart was now too loose. Making some simple adjustments, she headed back onto the track for her heat race. Still the kart was too loose and Kellcy was having difficulty keeping it straight. Frustrated but determined, she finished the heat race in 6th place, two positions from a transfer spot. Again she would have to race the 'B' Main Event...
Starting inside Row 3, Kellcy was focused on keeping her goals in check. In an action filled race she worked her way as far up as 3rd, when crash after crash, flip after flip and caution after caution unfolded. In a picture perfect finish, Kellcy dodged 4-lap traffic karts that had tangled directly in front of the flag man and pulled off a 4th place transfer postion. She was headed to the Main Event! "When I came out of turn 4 and saw all of those karts tangled, I went high, then went low, closed my eyes and hoped for the best! When I came into turn 2 and saw my number on the board in 4th place, I was happy. I really wanted to make the Main Event."
With a difficult race track, a narrow turn in 3 and 4 and several karts upside down throughout the evening, starting 16th in a field of 16 karts was going to be a challenge. "Be patient and keep your eye's up," said Kellcy's Dad. Racing hard and racing patiently, Kellcy worked her way through the field. Lap after lap she gained another position and the kart was coming to her. She was getting through the turns, managing the gas and moving forward. At the checkered flag Kellcy posted her best finish of the season, on one of the most difficult tracks of the series. She finished a firm 8th place and the bumps and bruises are proof that her determination paid off! "I really wanted to get in the Top 5 this weekend. I have never had my kart pop a wheelie before, so that was kinda scary. But my Dad got it to turn, I wasn't as tired as I usually am, and I'm really excited to go back next weekend and see what I can do," said Bell. "Also, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to my Dad. You 'rock' Dad and I'm so glad you won!"
Kellcy's Dad, Kelly had a successful night. After winning his heat race early in the afternoon, Bell came back to WIN his first Main Event of the season! After taking the early lead and holding off the rest of the field during the 25 lap event, Bell said, "It feels great to have a win in the books like my girls. The kart was fast and as soon as I figured out how to make my way through turn 3 and 4, I was just waiting for the checkered flag!!"
"It was a great feeling watching our Dad win", said the Bell Sisters. "He is good and we won't be surprised if he does it again before the season is over."
With the 6ft. Perpetual Trophy race scheduled for race #9, this highly competitive race will bring out the fast and the furious from all over Northern California. With both the Bell Sisters having won the Perpetual Trophy in 2004 & 2005, can one of the Trio bring it home in 2006?
Check back next week for all the race details, post your positive comments in the GUESTBOOK and visit the polaroid page and Kellcy's journal for the latest details from the drivers seat.

| Gotta Have A Goal

Kellcy Bell went into the 3-week break continuing to fine tune her driving skills. Racing the best 'B' main event she has had since the season began, she is looking forward to returning to the 8th race of the season at the Tehama Fairgrounds in Red Bluff, CA, this weekend.
During the break, Kellcy's father has made some drastic kart changes that he hopes will make the kart easier to turn. At just 80 lbs, Kellcy continues to have trouble turning the 245 lbs kart. Although she continues to adjust to the speed and the pace of the 250cc, by the end of the 25 lap event she is exhausted. With continued concentration on hitting her marks, Kellcy feels hopeful that she will improve her qualifying stats and has set a goal for 2007 to make the Main Event for the remaining 5 races she will run. "I'm excited to get back to the track. It was fun to have time off, hang-out with all my friends and enjoy all my Christmas gifts, but I'm ready to get back and see what I can do. I'm hoping to do better, get a top 5 finish in the Main Event and qualify better."
If there is one thing the Bell Sisters are good at, it is setting a goal and working hard in its direction. Looking into 2007 it seems Kellcy's goals are reachable. "They are very within reach," said Kellcy's father, Kelly. "She did very well during the last race, ran hard and didn't give up. That is all I ask of her."
Continue to check back week to week for the latest race details and to see how Kellcy does on reaching her 07' goals. Until then, check-out Kellcy's POLAROID page, the latest action shots at www.rboutlaws.com and don't forget to visit Kellcy's JOURNAL and GUESTBOOK for her view of all the racing action and to post your supportive comments.
From Bell Racing, Happy New Year and may 2007 bring you and your race team many trips to victory lane!

| I'm Trying Really Hard

Kellcy Bell continues to fine tune her driving skills week after week. "Each week she looks a little better. We've found some changes on the kart we are going to make over the break and I think in the New Year she will do even better," said Kellcy's father, Kelly Bell.
Running the first heat race of 3, Kellcy finished outside a transfer position to the Main Event. Providing an exciting 'B' Main run, Kellcy held her own and had a transfer position until the final yellow flag. On the restart she went high in turn 2 and lost her transfer position with only 2 laps to go. Finishing 5th, Kellcy joined her sister and her father in the grandstands to watch the final events of the evening. "I felt great in the 'B' main," said Bell. "I'm trying really hard to be better every weekend and I'm getting more used to the speed. I wasn't that tired, so I guess all those weights I'm lifting must be working," she says giggling.
Kellcy's Dad had a love-hate relationship with the track this weekend himself. Starting his weekend with a great qualifying effort of 4th of the 21 Sportsman drivers, Bell went on to win his first Trophy Dash of the season.
In the first of 3 heat races, Bell finished outside a transfer spot to the Main. In the 'B' Main event, Bell had a strong 1/2 lap lead over the field when the water hose came off and Bell spun in turn 2 ending his hopes of making the Main Event. "You just never know", said Bell. "Each week I realize it's not over until I see that checkered flag!"
The Bell Family will take the next three weekends off to enjoy the holidays and to celebrate the New Year. Each of them, wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and many trips to victory lane in 2007!!

Kellcy Bell had another successful weekend as she made her second "A" Main Event of the season.
In the second Heat Race of three, she lead 8 of the 10 laps before being passed by last years rival in the Box Stock Division, Cameron Bartlett. Finishing 2nd, she transfered to her second Main Event in two weeks. "I'm getting it", said Kellcy. "I'm still having trouble turning the kart in turn 4, but I'm feeling better about it every weekend".
Starting 10th in the Main Event, Kellcy raced hard and had worked her way as far up as 6th place during the event. Falling back to just outside the Top 10, she finished 11th and had this to say after the race. "I was soooo glad it was over. I couldn't hold on anymore and my arms were getting so tired. I guess I had better get to the gym and start lifting some weights!"
Also having a successful night was Kellcy's Dad, Kelly. Winning his first heat race of the season, Bell started mid-pack of the Sportsman Main Event. Running a strong 4th place for 21/25 laps of the event, Bell thought he had captured his first Top 5 of the season. But on a restart on lap 22, Bell was broadsided by the 1T and sent head-on into the wall. After four full circles in the air, Bell came to rest facing oncoming traffic at the flag stand and quickly realized that his night had ended. "I'm too old for that kind of abuse" Bell lauged. "My right shoulder is feeling the pain of the wall, but together with the car owner, Dave Sciarroni, we'll get the kart back to racing condition, and I'll be back for more abuse next weekend."
The three Bell drivers will participate in the Gary Jacobs Memorial Race this weekend. This race will celebrate the life of Gary Jacobs, a wonderful sports reporter who is dearly missed by so many racing communities. Janet Larson of www.KyleLarsonRacing.com has put together an event which has allowed many of the racing families to participate and give back to every driver from the Beginner Box to the Sportsman Division. "Janet has put alot of time and effort into this event and we appreciate all her hard work", said Shannon Bell. "Gary was always so supportive of our girls and always reminded them that it didn't matter that they were females. If they could drive, they would win. We miss all his racing articles and are looking forward to participating this weekend."

| "A" Main Baby!!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2006-12-05
|
Kellcy Bell had a much needed, successful weekend as she made her first "A" Main Event of the season! Starting her afternoon with a good qualifying effort, Kellcy started mid-pack in the first of 3 heat races and raced hard to her first 4th place transfer position. "I just kept telling myself, don't mess-up, don't mess-up", said Bell.
Starting the Main Event mid-pack, it was evident from the start that Kellcy was on her-toes, as crash after crash appeared in front of her, Kellcy drove smart and reacted quickly to each event. These reactions kept Kellcy from joining the pile-ups and pushed her farther and farther toward the front of the 16 kart field. At one point in the race, Kellcy was as far up as 7th place, but at the checkered flag not only had she finished the race on the lead lap, but she had placed within the Top 10! "It felt great to finally make it. I kept trying to stay positive week after week, but sometimes that gets hard to do. I'm really glad I finally made it and I hope that me and my Dad can get the right set-up on the kart and I can do it again this weekend!"
Speaking of Daddy Bell, he had a great night! Qualifying 6th, he made the Trophy Dash where he finished 3rd, transferred into the Main Event after finishing 2nd in his heat race and raced his way to a strong 4th in the Main Event before spinning in turn 4 and collecting the wall. "It's starting to all come back to me", said Bell. "Racing 15 years ago it's taken this old man a little longer to get my groove back, but I'm working on it. I want to say Congratulations to my little one for making the Main Event this weekend. I knew she could do it."
This racing trio will be back on the track this weekend for the 6th race of the winter series. Check back at that time for all the latest race details, visit the Red Bluff Outlaws website for on-track action photo's (www.rboutlaws.com) and don't forget to visit Kellcy's JOURNAL for her view of the racing action.

| Almost Up & Over!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2006-11-19

Kellcy Bell had an exciting weekend at the Tehama Fairgrounds in Red Bluff, CA this last weekend. In another week of improved qualifying, Bell was looking good and running 4th in her heat race, when she went into turn 3 strong and clipped the back of Jason Mittry, causing her to spin. Going to the back of the 10 kart line-up, Mittry tangled again with the 16k of Keyler Heinzy in turn 1 leaving a small opening between the tangled karts and the wall. Bell charged for that opening only to find there was not enough room. She slammed the wall and turned 3-full circles in the air before landing at the bottom of the track. "I nearly went over!" said Bell. "When I started back up, I could tell that my hit had broke the car because I couldn't turn it. I didn't want to crash anybody else so I just went off the track." By doing so, Bell started outside 4th row in the "B" Main Event.
As with every week, only the top 4 in the "B" event transfer to the Main. Bell finished 7th this week which left her parking her kart early in the evening. "I'm not gonna lie and say I'm not discouraged. Every week I feel a little better, but it just hasn't been enough. I know to stay positive and I'm hoping that after the break I'll finally make the main event. Only time will tell," she says with a big sigh.
Kellcy's Dad, Kelly Bell who is running his Sciarroni Bros., Open 500cc kart in the Sportsman Division, also ran the "B" Main Event this weekend. Midway through the race, Bell found his line and raced his way to a transfer spot, cheered on by the crowd. In the Main Event, Bell had several good charges to the front, but the continued pile-ups that sent one driver to the Emergency Room, were hard to avoid and Bell crashed before the checkered flag. "I'm having alot of fun," said Bell. "Me and Kellcy are trying hard to figure out our karts together. With any luck we will get her to the Main Event and me to the checkered flag before the end of the season".
Red Bluff will take next weekend off for the Thanksgiving Holiday but the Bell Family will return to the dirt on December 2nd. Until then, check out Kellcy's JOURNAL, review the on-track pictures at www.rboutlaws.com and post your racing comments in the GUEST BOOK located at the bottom of this page.
Happy Thanksgiving from Kellcy & Family

Kellcy Bell had a much improved weekend in her 250cc dirt kart, just missing the transfer spot to the A-Main Event by one position for the 3rd week in a row. Improving her qualifying effort from the previous week, it was obvious that Kellcy was focused on the task at hand... Making the "A" Main Event. "I'm gonna get it," said Bell. "I felt the best I have felt so far this season. Demo Mittry changed the set-up of my kart and it made it easier for me to turn, so I'm hoping next weekend is my weekend! I just have to stay positive and keep trying to make the main event!"
Bell realizes that with each week she gets a little more seat time and that seat time makes her a little bit better each weekend. Send her your words of encouragement by signing her Guest Book and check the Courier next Monday morning for all the racing details. You can also view her on track racing photo's at www.rboutlaws.com.

Kellcy Bell had another challenging weekend in her 250cc dirt kart, just missing the transfer spot to the A-Main Event by one position. Improving in qualifying, Kellcy focused this weekend on setting the car up in the corners, getting back on the gas more quickly and staying out of the 250cc pile-ups. "I'm trying my hardest", said Bell. "Me and this kart just arn't getting along", she says laughing. "I'm not going to get mad about it because I know I can do it. I just have to figure it out and once I do that, then things will be different. It's just taking me longer than I thought it would, but thats okay."
There were still plenty of smiles this weekend, while Kellcy watched her Dad return to the track. Kelly Bell qualified just out of the Top 10 with an 11th place position. An early exit was necessary in his heat race after the brakes failed and in the B-Main Event he was running 4th when the first of three pile-ups took place. Bell says, "It makes me respect my girls even more every time I drive one of these things. They are not easy and to know the girls do as well as they do, makes me proud." Kelly, together with both his racing daughters will try it again next weekend, when the three of them will focus on the same goal.... The A-Main event!" Check-in next Monday for full details of this racing trio.

| KELLCY'S DAD RETURNS TO THE DIRT!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2006-11-03
|
Kelly Bell, the father of Mackena & Kellcy Bell, has decided to come out of retirement and return to dirt kart racing this weekend. Eleven-years ago, he parked his #11 500cc kart, never realizing that his return would come in the form of a Crew Chief. In 2001, he made his way back to the track as the lead Crew Chief for both his young daughters. He has had great success at this job, watching his daughters win 3 dirt karting Championships and a two runner-up titles. "I'm really, really excited to watch my Dad this weekend", said Kellcy Bell. "I was just born when my Dad quit, so I have never got to see him race. I think he will do good because yesterday he was flying up and down our street. He was even popping wheelies!" Bell will run the Sportsman Division with drivers age 21 and older. Last weekends Sportsman Division class saw two red flags and some heavily damaged machines. This weekend Bell hopes to stay out of the crashes and park the kart at the end of the evening in one piece. He would like to thank Dave Sciarroni, of Sciarroni Bros. Racing
(www.SciarroniBrosRacing.com)for this opportunity to get back on the dirt!

| Red Bluff Begins!
Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter | 2006-10-30
|
Kellcy Bell hit to the track Saturday night in Red Bluff, CA., with a belly full of butterflies and hopes that she could conquer the 250cc kart by the nights end. "This kart is so much faster than my box stock. Red Bluff doesn't have a 125cc class anymore, so I didn't get that chance to bump-up slowly and let me tell you, there is nothing slow about the 250cc!" Starting the nights events off slowly, Bell made a strong charge in the B Main, just missing the transfer spot by one position. "I was really, really frustrated after the heat race and told my Dad I didn't want to do it. Then I reminded myself that this was the first race at Red Bluff and that I had to give myself a chance. I felt much better in the B Main and I started feeling like I could drive that thing! I'm excited to go back to Red Bluff next weekend and give it another try." Kellcy's sister Mackena continued to support her throughout the night and has no doubt that when she is comfortable with the speed of the 250cc, that she will be a contender. "The 250cc is quick and a huge difference from the Box Stock. She has already figured out the clutch and when she gets comfortable sliding through the turns, she will be at the front of the pack." Kellcy will return to the Red Bluff track each weekend through March 2007 as long as the weather allows. The Bell Family has decided not to run the points chase this season in Red Bluff due to the wintery road conditions they must travel in getting there. "It just isn't worth it", said Shannon Bell. "We pressed our luck several times last season because Kellcy was leading the points chase. This season the girls can focus on learning, trying new things and just having fun. Both girls have been in contention for a dirt karting Championship title since we started racing 5 years ago and since then, they have won 3 dirt championships and a runner-up position. It's time for the fun to return." Kellcy knows that the best of the best run in Red Bluff and she feels confident that within a few short weeks, she will be back at the top, with her race face on. Check back each week for all the Red Bluff highlights and details.

| Red Bluff Practice

Kellcy Bell returned to her favorite track this past weekend to get some seat time in her new 250cc dirt kart. With some admitted "butterflies" she belted in like an ole' champ and hit the track. The track, which was not in the best condition, was difficult to run but Kellcy made the best of it, was not involved in any crashes and improved her times during each practice session. Getting back in the kart enabled her to work through the "butterflies" and she now feels ready for next weekend. "I'm excited to run Red Bluff and all I can do is race my best. I finished 4th in the Box Stock my Rookie year and I have to remember that this is my Rookie year in the 250cc and not be too hard on myself. I plan to just go out there, keep my eye's up and stay out of trouble", she says smiling. Bell, together with her sister Mackena, will start the Red Bluff Winter Series this weekend, October 28th. This series runs through the middle of March 2007 and is sure to bring great excitement and news to Kellcy's "COURIER" page.

KELLCY BELL returned to Cycleland Speedway last weekend to buckle-in behind the wheel of her 250cc dirt kart. Only her sixth-time in the kart, she managed a 4th place in the heat race which transferred her to the Main Event. In the Main she spun to avoid a first-lap crash and then later spun after tangling with another kart in turn-4. Finishing the night with a DNF she realized that not having the chance to run the summer race schedule has set her back. "I wish I would've done better this weekend. I need to get back on the track and I'll beable to do that at the Red Bluff practice in a couple of weeks. Seat time is what makes you good, and I just haven't had any of that this summer since Mackena has been running her asphalt schedule".
While many of the other 250cc drivers
have at least 15-20+ races from the summer schedule, Kellcy is optomistic that once she returns to Red Bluff her skills and winning ways will return.
