Finally a update!!!    Posted by: Bell Racing Sports Reporter  |  2008-01-24 Soooo, life is crazy! No, really, I mean crazy!! School, volleyball, basketball, homework, SNACKS and sleep! Thats been my life for the last few months. School is always busy and I'm playing both volleyball and basketball 3 nights a week. When I get home, I snack (snack, snack!) hit the books for homework and then just try and chill! Sometimes I seriously forget where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be doing. Me and Mack have been going bowling as much as we can and I'm getting better (thank God for bumpers!) We are still playing Guitar Hero as much as possible and I'm loving my cell phone. I have mastered text messaging and can even do it with my hands in my pockets! I know, I know, what a professional :) I'm still trying to find some time to get up on the mountain and do some skiing. I did go sledding last weekend with my forever buddy, Daylin.... We had a BLAST! The two of us took a wild spill and I thought I had killed myself! No, really... I couldn't breathe and when I looked up and saw Day with the same CRazY look, we just started cracking up! Good times, good times! We had our first volleyball game yesterday against my cousins team. We beat them both games and it was really fun to see so many of my friends and play against them. They were always tough during basketball season, but we put the hurt on them with the v-ball! Speaking of volleyball, I better get my bag packed because we have a game tonight too. We killed this team when we played them in basketball so I'm wondering how their volleyball team will be. I got my braces off which started the summer PERFECTLY! Dang I hated those things and now my mom knows why! But my teeth look great and I only have to wear my retainers for a little while! Nothing stuck in these teeth anymore!! CHEESE!!! I had a birthday in May and my mom FINALLY gave in and let me get a cell phone, but it came with a LONG list of rules....boo!!! I also got Guitar Hero and have already moved up to 'Master' on some of the songs! Anyone want to challenge me? Michelle???? Jocelyn??? Bring It! I've been swimming, playing lots of guitar hero and trying to get better at bowling! Yes bowling!! Mackena got a bowling ball for her birthday so we have been going almost every day. My high score is a 123 but I'm getting better every time. We had a big party for Mackena's birthday where everyone in my family came and it was soooooooo fun! Gregg bowled a 208 and my Dad, Mom and Mack all got in the 180's! Man- I gotta get better!!! I've been up to Lake Tahoe a couple of times to hang with my cousins and Aunties. It is really pretty up there but I always get too sunburned (sorry Mom!) I will be starting back with basketball this week and I'm excited to get back on the court. I LOVE basketball and volleyball and can't wait to play this year! Lets hope I make the team!!! I'm off to load my IPOD with some new songs for this weekend! A TOP 5!    Posted by: Kellcy  |  2007-02-19 I guess I waited till the last race for a top 5 finish! After qualifying 11th (great number!) I went to the race board and looked at where I started in my heat race. I started 3rd row outside and only 5 transfered to the A main..... I was determined to transfer, but I missed it by one! In the B main I started outside pole!!! Only 4 transfered and I was 99.99% sure that I could transfer, but you just never know. While we were getting push started they watered the track so it was a little slick! I was in 3rd because I started up high and kept sliding up to the marbles, but the 3F went sliding into the infield and now I was in 2nd right behind Zach Heinz! There were probably 7 or 8 yellows and with every restart it looked like Zach was going to spin right in front of me, so I was careful and took the 2nd place finish. Off to the A main event......... Starting in the back of the main I knew there was going to be a lot of crashes so I just kept my eyes open and right in front of me were about 5 yellows! This helped me move up the pack! Just 2 cars in front of me was my buddy Seth Nunes and I was determined to catch Seth and try to pass him!! Oh, he would hate that :) Two laps after I was saying that to myself, Seth got hit by Cameron Bartlett and FLIPPED!!! Wow, glad Seth was ok. Now I was in 6th place with the 5x and 1C in front of me. I wanted a Top 5 really bad, so I was going to try to pass both of them! With only a couple laps left Chase started to tangle with Max Adams and I flew past both of them. Then I was in 4th all of the sudden!!! After I passed them, they tangled really hard and Chase said he broke some ribs. After the crash there was only 4 laps left and I was in the top 5!!! At the checkered flag I took a 4th place finish!!!! I was really excited because my Papa Mayfield and Carol were there and so was my Papa Daryl and Joe the Chromer (one of my sponsors). I felt good to show them that I could race that 250cc and that they could see that I was a Top 5! GREAT last race for me!!! Well next weekend we might go to Antioch, CA where Mackena could drive the Sprint car of Alissa Geving, her friend from Red Bluff who also drives a go-kart and is fast. We have to see what the weather is going to do but it will be fun to watch my sis and Alissa get some laps in. I'll keep you posted in my Journal about what I am doing, maybe some basketball or just life. Las Vegas NASCAR is only 15 days away and I can't wait to see "MY" Kasey Kahne :) and ride the rides with all my buddies! Its gonna be so fun. I qualified 12th (dang car wasn't working with me!) right behind my good friend Seth. Then I started 3rd row outside in the heat race and I knew only 5 were gonna make it to the A main. In Turn 1 and 2, after a good battle with Cameron Bartlett (my rival from the Box stock last year... he finished 2nd :) he pushed me up in the marbles and I had to settle for 4th! Hey, at least I made it! After that my Auntie and cousin's showed up. I was glad to see them there.... but surprised. They drove through some bad weather to come see us!! REAL family support! After we ate, and ate, and ate some more we watched the other divisions run and then it was time for my sister to run the trophy dash! GOOD JOB by the way... I guess we will have to settle for 2nd, but Congrats on making the Trophy Dash! About 4 races after the trophy dashes was my A main. I was READY! I started 5th row (10th) outside of Seth. It was a good battle between us but he ended up with 3rd and I got 7th! Seth, wait for me next time!!! Dad had a bummer night. He didn't transfer out of the B and missed it by 1 position. His car was really not working like it usually is. Tooo much to work on, poor Dad!!! Come back next week to see how our weekend went!! This will be my last race in Red Bluff until the Nationals so I hope I do good and maybe I'll make the Trophy Dash and the A Main! Wooo Hoooo! I'll give it a try! I was so sure I would figure the car out after feeling great before the break! I went out in qualifying thinking about what my dad had told me. "Pitch that thing as far as you can!" So I did and it felt pretty good. I came out with a 9th place postition!! Starting outside pole in the heat race I was positive that I would make it to the A main......until the #13 car spun me out and I had to go ALL THE WAY to the back of the pack!! Working my way up the field (Boy was I mad!!!!)I only missed the transfer spot by one, soooo, I had to race the B Main. Starting outside pole with my good friend Casey McClain on the inside, I was sure that one of us was going to win and I knew that if he got in front of me I would just follow his line....BUT I got a great start (Go Kellcy, Go Kellcy!) and he was the one who followed my line. I finished 1st and Casey finished 2nd (Good Job Casey) and we both went to the Main Event. Starting in the very back of the A main I knew that there was going to be some crashes so I just hung back there, was patient and sure enough there was a 5 car pile up!! Missing all the crashes I worked my way up to 6th trying hard to catch my buddy Seth Nunes the #5N. But I just couldn't get around the car in front of me and every time I tried to pass him he just cut me off! So I said to myself, "Self, 6th place is better than the back!!" I was really happy with my day and I'm excited to get back to Red Bluff this weekend and see what I can do again this weekend. Come on Trophy Dash!!!! Good Job to Mackena for getting 6th after almost getting her arm ripped off by Daniel Becker. Man Mackena you showed him that us girls can race with the best of them!!!! Also, have to give congrats to dad for getting a 3rd place finish in the A main! Also want to say sorry to Brandon for getting SLAMMED into the wall trying to pass a lap car........You had the transfer dude!! Hope you are feeling better. Two weeks ago I had to race the B and got 4th right behind Chase Hill. So that meant I had to start dead last which was 16th :( Luckily there was alot of crashes and that helped me to start moving up in positions because I was able to stay out of them! By the end of the race I had moved up to 8th, my best finish and it felt great!! Now..... this weekend I just got my new HANS (head and neck restraint like Kasey Kahn wears :)and I was just starting to get used to it!! In the heat I started pole and ended up 2nd........boy that was a fun, fast race. With 2nd, off to the A main I went!! I started 13th out of 18 cars. With the new HANS device, it wasn't tight enough so my BANGS keep getting in my face and it was dusty, I could barely see a THING!!!! Luckily I turned out 12th. Two weeks ago Dad started outside pole of the A main and ended up walking away with first!!! GOOD job Dad. I was SOOOO happy inside for you! Mackena got 10th in the main out of 16 cars!! Go Mack! This weekend Dad just didn't pick up the line and ended up hitting the wall and flipping over! Hope your back and knee get feeling better soon. We gotta go skiing this weekend. Mackena was working her way up when the car in front of her spun out and she had no where to go. She was in a big pile up, and on the next couple laps she hit a rut, spun to the right, hit the wall and didn't get to finish her race!!! Sorry sis. I started pole in the heat and with 2 laps to go Cameron Bartlett passed me and I took a 2nd! BUMMER.........but off to the "A" Main I went. I started 5th row outside out of 8 rows in the Main Event. At the beginning of the Main my car felt really tight so I was getting tired quickly. I couldn't turn and everyone got underneath me :( I was in 6th at one part of the race...but I ended up 11th out of 16 cars. GReAT NUMBER! I was pretty satisfied. I'm really having fun and trying to do better every weekend. I guess I have the racing bug again because I am missing a weekend with friends to be at the track. I just gotta figure out that kart! I know I'll get it but only if I keep practicing. My sis was doing great in the heat race until someone spun her out.....Brandon :) Don't worry, we still love ya! My dad was doing AWESOME! He was in 4th but the 1T crammed him into the wall and he did like a 360 spin, 4 times!!! The frame was bent so he had to get off the track and he hurt his shoulder. He has been working all week on getting his kart back together so he can race this weekend. I know he will do good again this weekend. Come on dad, we can do it! Sorry I have not updated you yet on the excitement that went on this weekend..... Well I started outside pole in my heat race. On the first couple laps I was trying to get to the bottom because everyone was getting underneath me. Finally I got to the bottom and was in 4th place........."the transfer spot." I remember saying over and over in my head, "Don't mess up, don't mess up!" When the white flag waved and I was still in 4th, I still kept repeating that phrase. I was coming around the corner to take the checkered flag and all I remember was I was cheering in my head "NO more B main, Go me, Go me!" In the A main I started mid pack, outside. During the race all the crashes seemed to be RIGHT where I was! I guess I just have bad timing, but I suprisingly missed every crash! I finished the race in a TOP 10 POSITION and what a great feeling! My sis had to race the B main because she missed the transfer spot by one! SUCKERFISH! She transfered out of a EXCITING B main, and started last row in the Main. She raced really hard and made it exciting for everyone to watch! Get #20 next time sis!!! My dad made it to the A main and he was in 6th and a wreck was in front of him and he missed it by a hair, then raced to 4th. While pitching the car too much in the corner he spun and 3 other cars were in the pile up with him against the wall! But he came back to finish the race and take his first checkered flag in a main event! Gooooo Dad. Well keep checking in to see what other excitement I have to tell you! P.S. I started 2nd row inside in my heat race. On the 2nd lap I was going strong when I clipped the back of Jason Mittry in the #2 and had to go to the back. Starting behind the #2 on the restart, he tangled with the 16k. I thought that I could go up top but the gap was TOO small and I hit the wall (BANG), and round and round I went (3 times!) I almost flipped that thang! Once I got started again I couldn't turn. I knew something had broke so I pulled off and didn't finish the heat race. That led up to me racing the B main AGAIN! I finished 7th (needed 4th) and didn't transfer. OH WELL! I'll try again next time! Whats a girl to do? ;) My dad did pretty good this weekend. He had to race the B main but transferred out of it to the A. In the A he got in 2 wrecks but kept going! GOOOOO Dad! My sis did good too. After winning the heat race battling with Brian McCain, she made it to the A main. She started 5th row inside and was doing great until Ryan Foster spun in front of her and she got tangled. She finished 8th. Keep up the good racing sis, that race was CRAZY!! Well check back in two weekends for the results of the December 2nd race and I hope all of you have a "Happy Thanksgiving!" In the heat race the car was hard to turn so I didn't make it to the A main! But, Demo, helped it to turn and I finally got to race the car! But ONCE AGAIN I got 5th in the B main and missed the transfer spot to the A! Well maybe next weekend I will make the transfer spot to the A in my heat race! Mackena did great, she won the heat race, with Daniel Becker on her butt! Oh yeah, Dad raced again this weekend and he made it to the A main in his heat race! But on the last lap he "Hooked up with a chick" and didn't finish the Main! But I know next weekend we will both make it to the main and get to finish it too! Well got to go unload the trailer!!!
